Pakruojis District Municipality
Pakruojis District Municipality is one of 60 municipalities in Lithuania. It is an agricultural district, situated in the north of Lithuania and bordering with Latvia. The rivers Kruoja, Mūša and others flow through the district. Forests occupy 16.7% of the territory of the Pakruojis district. It is close to two major cities: Šiauliai is 40 kilometres to the west, and Panevėžys - about 50 kilometres to the southeast.

Jonas Avyžius Public Library
Jonas Avyžius Public Library of Joniškis District Municipality was founded in 1937 in Joniškis, Lithuania. Valentina Ivanovaitė became the first librarian. At the beginning the Library‘s collection consisted of 600 books placed in two rooms. In 1940 the public library moved into premises near the centre of town. A lot of books were lost and only a few new books have recently been received.
