Lake Žuvintas
Lake Žuvintas is a shallow lake in Alytus district, central Lithuania. Area of Žuvintas Lake is 965 ha. It is the shallowest lake in Lithuania with the greatest depth 3 m and average only 0.6 m. It is a paradise for water birds, but also faces danger of becoming a swamp.

Nemunas Loops Regional Park
Nemunas Loops Regional Park was established in 1992 to protect the historical, cultural, and natural character of the loops on the Neman River in central Lithuania. The park occupies 25,171 hectares. 69% of its area is forested. The resort areas of Birštonas and Punia lie within its boundaries. Its cultural significance is based on its archeological, ethnological, mythological, religious, architectural, and urban history.

Lake Metelys
Lake Metelys is located in southern Lithuania's Alytus County. The lake, covering 1,292 hectares, has a maximum depth of 15 metres. It lies with the boundaries of Meteliai Regional Park. Lake Metelys formed from melted ice lump. The lake is a notable waterfowl habitat; populations of Great Crested Grebes, Greylag Goose, and the globally near-threatened Ferruginous Duck have been observed there.

Meteliai Regional Park
Meteliai Regional Park (Metelių regioninis parkas), established in 1992, is a natural and cultural reserve in southern Lithuania. The park covers about 177 square kilometers, including three lakes: Lake Metelys, Lake Dusia, and Lake Obelija. Its geographic features include glacial moraines. 130 bird species breed in the park; it is visited by over 10,000 individuals during migratory seasons. Flocks of up to 2,000 crested grebes, 15,000 coots, and 4,000 tufted ducks have been observed.
