Balik Pulau

Balik Pulau (literally meaning back of the island) is a town in Penang, Malaysia. Durians and other kinds of fruits are planted there. Balik Pulau is famous for its durian plantations which include the 'ang heh' (meaning red prawns) and 'holo' (meaning gourd like) variety. The area was affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Nibbinda Forest Monastery is a Theravada forest monastery situated at Mukim 5, Balik Pulau, Penang, Malaysia. The monastery is located on top of a hill in Balik Pulau. Surrounded by mountains and facing the sea, the beautiful yet serene place is an ideal spot for the monks to cultivate disgust with worldly life. Penang Island

Penang Island is part of the state of Penang, on the west coat of Peninsular Malaysia. It was named Prince of Wales Island when it was occupied by the British East India Company on 12 August 1786, in honour of the birthday of the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. Pulau Betong is a small island in Penang, Malaysia. Pulau Betong is a small island on the southwest corner of Penang Island. Located on the Penang side is a village called Kampung Pulau Betong, which gets its name from the island. Pulau Betong can be seen from the country road that leads to Pasir Panjang. The island is not accessible except by boat. Pulau Betong is uninhabited, safe for some fish-breeding activities conducted there. In order to reach Pulau Betong, one has to hire a boat.
