Salang, Malaysia

Salang is the northernmost village on the island of Tioman in Pahang, Malaysia. It is very small, yet popular with backpackers. It has a few bars, some dive shops and two main chalet complexes. Although the village itself is polluted, it is within close access to the best reef sites. Salang is located close to the uninhabited "Monkey Bay" so named because monkeys are seen walking along the beach.

Mesilau

Nunuk Ragang

Nunuk Ragang is a legendary red banyan tree traditionally located at the intersection of the left (Liwagu Kegibangan) and right (Liwagu Kawananan) branches of the Liwagu River to the east of Ranau and Tambunan in Sabah. The word "Nunuk" is a Dusun word for the Banyan tree, and "Ragang" comes from "aragang", the Dusun word for red. It was under this giant banyan tree that the village of Nunuk Ragang was founded and flourished.

Crocker Range

Crocker Range (Banjaran Crocker in Malay), is a mountain range on the island of Borneo. Politically, it is within the boundary of the Malaysian state of Sabah, located in the northern half of Borneo. It is named after W.M. Crocker. The mountain range separates the east coast and west coast of Sabah. At an average height of 1800m, it is the highest mountain range in Sabah. Mount Kinabalu, which is one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia is part of this range.

Liwagu River

Liwagu River is a river in north Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia, flowing eastwards off the southern slope of Mount Kinabalu and then into the Labuk River. The Liwagu River Trail in Mount Kinabalu National Park is considered to be a preeminent birder's trail. The trail varies between open vistas and dense thickets, but is predominantly open, skirting the ridge-top as it goes along the north side of the river gorge.
