Tanger-Med

Tanger-Med is a cargo and passenger port located about 40 km east of Tangier, Morocco. It is one of the largest ports on the Mediterranean and in Africa by capacity and went into service in July 2007. Its initial capacity was 3.5 million shipment containers.

Action of 24 June 1618

This battle took place on 24 June 1618 at the Strait of Gibraltar, when 12 Dutch ships which had been hired by Venice and were flying Venetian colors, under the command of Melcior van den Kerchove, fought their way through against 10 blockading Spanish ships, commanded by Miguel de Vidazabal. About 10 Dutch ships, commanded by Moy Lambert (although his full squadron consisted of 13 ships), stood aside during the battle. The battle lasted from 3pm til nightfall.

Cape Malabata

Cape Malabata (or Punta Malabata) is a cape located at 6 miles east of Tangier, Morocco facing the Strait of Gibraltar. The cape features a lighthouse and a medieval looking castle built in early 20th century. A Strait of Gibraltar crossing has been proposed that would link Punta Paloma in Spain to Cape Malabata.

Zinat

Zinat (Also known as Sebt zinat constituency/ in Arabic جماعة سبت الزينات) is a village in northern Morocco, situated 20 kilometres east of the city of Tanger, 50 south of the city of Tétouan. It is also home to Ibn battuta Dam (سد إبن بطوطة) which provides Tangier city with drinking water.
