Bhaktapur District

Bhaktapur district, located in the eastern part of Kathmandu valley, is the smallest among the seventy-five districts of Nepal. The district, with Bhaktapur as its district headquarters, covers an area of 119 km² and had a population (2001) of 225,461. The district population was 304,651 in 2011 census, with 9,701 people absent (mostly work abroad).

Bhatgaon, Nepal

Bhaktapur is a town in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal about eight miles from the capital city, Kathmandu. The name means "City of Devotees" in Sanskrit. It is called Khwapa in Nepal Bhasa and is also colloquially known as Bhatgaon. Bhaktapur was the largest of the 3 Newar kingdoms of the Kathmandu Valley. It has a population of about 300,000, of which the vast majority are still Newars.

Madhyapur Thimi

Madhyapur Thimi is a municipality in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. Thimi lies between Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley. It is one of the ancient, cultural and historical places along the trade route from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu. Like other old cities this city is also situated on elevated land and therefore one has to climb up to reach this city. Thimi occupies an area of 2 square kilometers and is administratively divided into 8 wards.
