Tribhuvan University
Tribhuvan University (TU) [त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय] is a public university in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 1959, TU is the oldest of the five universities in Nepal. Enrolement in 2012/2013 is 143,899 making it the one of the largest in the world. The university provides undergraduate and graduate education.

Swayambhunath
Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees', for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. However, Shing. kun may be a corruption of the local Newari name for the complex, Singgu, meaning 'self-sprung'.

Dasarath Rangasala Stadium
Dasharath Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is the Biggest stadium in Nepal. It is currently used mostly for football matches and cultural and entertainment programs. The stadium holds 25,000 spectators and seats 5,000 was built in 1956. Most of Nepal's national and international tournaments are held in this stadium. Martyr's Memorial League is also held in this ground every year. It is named after Dashrath Chand, one of the martyrs of Nepal.

The district, with Patan as its district headquarters, covers an area of 385 km² and has a population of 337,785. It is one of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley, along with Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Its population was 466,784 in the initial 2011 census tabulation. Lalitpur District has many schools, colleges and hotels.
