Ōtara is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, situated 18 kilometres to the southeast of the Auckland CBD. Ōtara lies near the head of the Tāmaki River (actually an arm of the Hauraki Gulf), which extends south towards the Manukau Harbour. Contemporary Ōtara is surrounded by the suburbs of Ōtāhuhu, Middlemore, Mangere, Papatoetoe, Wiri, Manurewa, Manukau Heights, Flatbush, Botany Pakuranga and Howick.

Papatoetoe Intermediate School
Papatoetoe Intermediate School is an intermediate school (years 7–8) in Papatoetoe, a suburb of Manukau Ward, Auckland Region, New Zealand. The school opened in 1953 on a site adjacent to Dominion Breweries on Great South Road in Papatoetoe. The school was called Otara Intermediate School, the name used then for that part of the district. The 650 pupils enrolled at that time came from both Papatoetoe and the surrounding district.

Otahuhu
Otahuhu is a suburb of Auckland. It is located 13 kilometres to the southeast of the city centre, on a narrow isthmus between an arm of the Manukau Harbour to the west and the Tamaki River estuary to the east. The isthmus is the narrowest connection between the North Auckland Peninsula and the rest of the North Island, being only some 1200 metres wide at its narrowest point, between the Otahuhu Creek and the Mangere Inlet.

East Tamaki
East Tamaki is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. This is a mixed residential, light industry and retail area which is growing rapidly. Prior to the 1960s this was largely a dairy farming area. A landmark is Smales Mountain which in 2010 has the remains of an old Pa, a stone field garden, an early church, and farm homestead. The area is under governance of the Auckland Council, and is located to the south-east of the Auckland city centre.
