Tokarahi
Tokarahi is a small village located in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. Its location is a rural setting in the Waiareka Valley, inland from Oamaru. Economic activity is focused on agriculture. For a number of decades, Tokarahi served as the terminus of one arm of the Ngapara and Tokarahi Branches, two connected branch line railways built to open up Oamaru's hinterland and encourage farming development.

Douglas, Canterbury
Douglas is a lightly populated locality in the southern Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. It is situated inland southwest of Waimate, the largest town in the region. It was settled in 1911, and has a population of 20 people. The nearest state highway, State Highway 82, passes to the east of Douglas through nearby Waihao Downs. Waihao Downs was also once the terminus of the nearest railway to Douglas, the Waimate Branch, from 4 April 1884 until 11 December 1953.

Waitaki District
The Waitaki district, in the Canterbury and Otago regions of New Zealand, straddles the traditional border between the two regions, the Waitaki River. It has a land area of 7,151.94 km² (2,761.38 sq mi), divided 59.28% to Canterbury Region and 40.72% to Otago Region. It is the only district in the South Island that is divided between two regions. A major reason for this split was the governance of the Waitaki River which forms a political boundary between Canterbury and Otago.
