Pukekawa

Pukekawa is a small rural community located in the Lower Waikato area of the Waikato District, New Zealand. It was in the Franklin District until 2010. It is about an hour's drive south of central Auckland. Pukekawa, an extinct volcano, is one of the oldest volcanic cones in the Auckland region. The area's fertile soils are used to grow a range of vegetables, including onions, potatoes and carrots. At the heart of Pukekawa is a primary school, church and a garage/service station.

Hampton Downs Motorsport Park

Hampton Downs Motorsport Park is situated in North Waikato, New Zealand near the Meremere drag strip and the dirt track club. The motorsport park is an ambitious privately funded enterprise and the construction began in February 2007. The completion was planned for late 2008 but a particularly wet winter pushed the opening out to October 2009.

Meremere

Meremere is a small town in the northern Waikato region in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located on the east bank of the Waikato River, 50 kilometres north of Hamilton. Meremere was the site of fighting in 1863 during the New Zealand Wars, at which time the settlement (then known as Mere Mere) was the site of a Māori defensive outpost. For a number of years a coal-fired power station operated in Meremere, and much of the workforce lived in the town.

Onewhero

Onewhero aka 'The Whero' is a Village in the Waikato District, and is part of the Waikato Region in the North Island of New Zealand. The population of the Onewhero statistical area, which is much larger than the town itself, was 3,771 people in the 2006 census. The name Onewhero translates from Maori as "Red Earth", which describes the soil color typical in the Franklin region.
