Pataua River
The Pataua River is a tidal river of the Northland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows northeast from its origins east of Whangarei, reaching the Pacific Ocean at the southern end of Ngunguru Bay. At its mouth, the river is flanked by the settlements of Pataua North and Pataua South, which are separated by a footbridge.

Whangarei Harbour Marine Reserve
The Whangarei Harbour Marine Reserve is a protected area in the North Island of New Zealand. It was established in 2006 and is approximately 240 ha over two sites. The students and faculty of the nearby Kamo High School played an important role in establishing this reserve. Mount Manaia
Mount Manaia is a dominant landmark approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Whangarei city on the Whangarei Heads peninsula. Standing 420 metres, the summit offers outstanding views of the Marsden Point Oil Refinery, Bream Bay and the Hauraki Gulf to the south, Whangarei Harbour to the west and the Poor Knights Islands and Northland coast to the north.
