Okoroire

Okoroire is a small settlement just a few minutes drive from Tirau, New Zealand. Attractions include hot springs surrounded by bush. Private pools can be hired from the Okoroire Hotel. The pools are said to cure all types of aches and pains and have long been used for their health benefits. The Okoroire Hotel was built in the 1880s from native timber. It has been owned by the same family for three generations. An excellent 9-hole golf course is also available. 1:50,000 map

Tirau

Tirau is a small town in the Waikato region of the North Island of New Zealand, 50 kilometres southeast of Hamilton. The town has a population of 732 (2006 census) (726 in 2001 and 735 in 1996). Tirau is primarily a farming town but in recent years has begun to exploit the income that comes from being on a major road. Tirau is Maori for "place of many cabbage trees. " Tirau is a major junction in the New Zealand State Highway network.

Te Poi

Te Poi is a small village in rural Waikato, New Zealand, nestled at the base of the scenic Kaimai Ranges established in 1912. Te Poi is part of a thriving farming area, particularly for dairying, thoroughbred horse breeding and cropping. Te Poi was the site of the Sunny Park-Hinuera Cooperative Dairy Co known for its casein production. In 1983 Sunny Park buildings were auctioned off after the merger with the Waikato Dairy Company.

Putaruru

Putaruru is a small town in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. It is on the Oraka River 65 kilometres south-east of Hamilton. The correct form of the name is thought to be the Māori word Putaaruru – "To come forth like a ruru (native owl)"; sometimes given as 'Home of the Owl'. The town's population at the 2006 census was 3765 . Its economy is based on farming, forestry and timber production. State Highway 1 and the Kinleith Branch railway run through the town.
