The Base (mall)

The Base New Zealand's first and only super regional shopping centre is located in Te Rapa, in the New Zealand city of Hamilton. The first stage of The Base opened in July 2005, The Base is currently the country's largest shopping centre.

Waikato Times

The Waikato Times is a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a circulation to the greater Waikato region. The Waikato Times started out as the tri-weekly Waikato Times and Thames Valley Gazette, first published on 2 May 1872 in Ngaruawahia but moved to Hamilton in 1875. For 20 years it competed with the Waikato Argus, until the papers merged in 1915.

Hamilton Astronomical Society Observatory

The Hamilton Astronomical Society Observatory is located next to the Hamilton Zoo in Brymer Road to the west of Hamilton City, New Zealand. The Hamilton Astronomical Society was founded in 1933 and is one of New Zealand's oldest astronomical societies.

Te Rapa

Te Rapa is a mixed light industrial, large scale retail and semi-rural suburb to the northwest of central Hamilton, New Zealand that is built on a flat area that was previously the bed of an ancient river,the forerunner to the present Waikato River. Stretching in a long, thin north-south axis, Te Rapa is home to a large number of factories including Te Rapa Dairy Factory, one of the largest of its kind in the world.

Hamilton Zoo

Hamilton Zoo is the main zoological garden of Hamilton, New Zealand. Covering 25 hectares, it is situated on Brymer Road in the Hamilton suburb of Rotokauri, on the outskirts of the metropolitan area towards the northwest. It is owned by the Hamilton City Council with the Department of Recreation and Welfare handling the day to day running of the site. Hamilton Zoo is the first zoo in New Zealand to become fully accredited by the Zoo and Aquarium Association.
