The Kaniere River is a river of New Zealand. It is located in the West Coast Region of the South Island. The river is the outflow of Lake Kaniere, and flows west to reach the Hokitika River five kilkometres from the coast of the Tasman Sea.

Arahura River

The Arahura River is a river located on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is approximately 56 kilometers in length and flows into the Tasman Sea eight kilometers north of Hokitika, next to the Arahura Pa. The lower reaches of the Arahura River was a major producer of gold in the past - and extensively mined, but it is now worked out. It is also a major source of pounamu (greenstone) for the local Māori.

Lake Kaniere

Lake Kaniere is located on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. It lies 30 kilometres southeast of Hokitika, and drains into the Tasman Sea via the Kaniere and Hokitika rivers. At 22 km², it is second only to Lake Brunner in size among the West Coast's lakes. Mount Graham is on the west coast of the lake. A small hydroelectric station is located on the Kaniere River, close to the lake's outflow.

Mount Graham, New Zealand

Mount Graham is a mountain in the West Coast Region of New Zealand with an elevation of 393 metres above sea level. Lake Kaniere is immediately east of Mount Graham.

Kumara, New Zealand

Kumara is a town on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located 30 kilometres (19 miles) south of Greymouth, close to the western end of State Highway 73, which leads across Arthur's Pass to Christchurch. The Taramakau River flows past to the north. The population was 318 in the 2006 Census, a decrease of 6 from 2001. The name may come from the Māori language Kohe mara, which is the blossom of the tātarāmoa, or bush lawyer.
