Åsa, Ringerike

Åsa is a village in Ringerike municipality, Norway. The village stretches from Åsaporten, the first road tunnel towards Åsa from Norderhov, and around the north end and east side of the fjord area, south to the border with Hole. It is located in inner Steinsfjorden. Åsa has one elementary school called Vegård with around 50-60 kids. Åsa was named after two farms around the mouth of the Åsaelva river.

Damtjern (Ringerike)

Damtjern is a small lake which lies in Krokskogen, Ringerike, in the county of Buskerud Norway. Damtjern is a setting-off point for walking in the area, both in summer and winter. There is a road up to Damtjern from Stubbdal, Stubbdal a village situated at the head of Åsa in Ringerike municipality. Between Stubbdal and Damtjern there are also tracks to the old Conveyor in Asa (Kjerraten i Åsa).

Sentralanlegget

Sentralanlegget is the war headquarters of the Norwegian government. The facility is located in Hole municipality in Buskerud County, and designed as an underground shelter in the west side of the mountain Kongens utsikt. The purpose of this is to avoid a direct hit from a nuclear missile from the east.

Sundvollen

Sundvollen is a village in the municipality of Hole, in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Sundvollen is located along the east side of Tyrifjorden where the E16 crosses west over Steinsfjorden, the northeastern arm of Tyrifjorden, to Kroksund. The village had 801 inhabitants as of January 2009. Sundvollen is most noted for the Sundvolden and Krokkleiva hotels. Sundvolden Hotel is one of Norway’s oldest hotels. It was mentioned in written sources dating from 1648.
