It is located between Finneid in the town of Fauske and the village of Sulitjelma. It is located about 4 kilometres east of a series of three long tunnels on the road. The 568-metre long tunnel was originally built in 1962 as part of the Sulitjelmabanen railway line between Finneid and Sulitjelma.
