Sandnessund Bridge

Sandnessund Bridge is a cantilever road bridge that crosses the Sandnessundet strait between the islands of Tromsøya and Kvaløya in the municipality of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. The Tromsø Bridge, the Tromsøysund Tunnel, and this bridge are the three road connections into the city of Tromsø on the island of Tromsøya. The 1,220-metre Sandnessund Bridge was constructed out of concrete and it has 36 spans supporting it.

Tromsø

Tromsø is a city and municipality in Troms county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tromsø. Tromsø city is the ninth-largest urban area in Norway by population, and the seventh largest city in Norway by population. It is the largest city and the largest urban area in Northern Norway, and the second largest city and urban area north of the Arctic Circle in Sápmi.

Prestvannet

Prestvannet is a small lake on the highest point on the central part of the island of Tromsøya in the city of Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. Prestvannet was built up as a reservoir in 1867, and continued in that function until 1921. Since then it has been used as park land and a nature reserve. The pond area, just next to a big city has been preserved as a nesting place for various birds. The pond and its surrounding wooded area is an important natural area for the Tromsø area.

Tromsøya

Tromsøya is a small island in the Tromsøysundet strait between the mainland and Kvaløya island in Tromsø municipality, Troms county, Norway. It contains the city centre of Tromsø and several residential areas. The 22.8 square kilometres island has a population (2012) of 36,088, which gives the city a population density of 1,583 inhabitants per square kilometre . Tromsø Airport is situated on the western side of the island.
