Imsland
Imsland is a parish and former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It was created by a split from Vikedal on 1 January 1923. At that time Imsland had a population of 604. On 1 January 1965 the area south of the Vindafjord inlet, with 61 inhabitants, was incorporated into Suldal municipality. The rest of Imsland, with 372 inhabitants, was merged with Sandeid, Vikedal, Vats and part of Skjold to form the new municipality Vindafjord.

The Suldalslågen (or Lågen) river is located in Rogaland County in southwest Norway. Suldalslågen has a natural watershed of 1463 km² of which 75% is above timberline in high mountain areas, making it western Norway's largest river. The Suldalslågen and upstream watercourse is heavily dammed and regulated (including transfer of water across catchmetn borders) for hydroelectric power generation, and represents ~6% of Norway's total hydroelectric power generation.

Sand is a village and former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The municipality was created by a split from Jelsa in 1859. At that time Sand had 1,600 inhabitants. On 1 January 1965 Sand was incorporated into the neighboring municipality Suldal. Prior to the merger Sand had 1,135 inhabitants. The village Sand has a population of 1,157. It is the administrative centre of Suldal municipality.

Jelsa, Norway
Jelsa is a former municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The parish of Jælse was established as a municipality January 1, 1838. In 1859 the municipality was divided, the district of Sand becoming a municipality of its own. The split left Jelsa with a population of 2,606. On 1 January 1965 the majority of Jelsa, with 928 inhabitants, were merged with Erfjord, Sand and Suldal to form the enlarged Suldal municipality.
