Jalozai

Jalozai refugee camp, 35 kilometres southeast of Peshawar, Pakistan, was one of the largest of 150 refugee or transit camps in Pakistan, holding Afghan refugees from the 1980s Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It had an estimated 70,000 refugees at its peak. New Jalozai adjoined the original Jalozai camp in November 2000, taking in a new wave of arriving Afghan refugees.

Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Nowshera - known locally as Nowkhaar is the chief city of Nowshera District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It is also one of the largest cities of the province and lies on the Grand Trunk Road 27 miles due east of Peshawar at 34°0'55N 71°58'29E.

Dheri Zardad

Dheri Zardad is a town and union council of Charsadda District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located on the bank of the Kabul River at 34°2'44N 71°50'9E and has an altitude of 258 metres (849 feet). It was built by Zardad Khan Popalzay Durrani, who was the governor of the then Peshawar province under the Durrani Empire; he purchased the land and the village was built as a hunting place. This village was destroyed by floods in 2010 and is being rebuilt by the owners.

Peshawar Division

Peshawar Division was an administrative division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan until the reforms of 2000 abolished the third tier of government. At independence in 1947, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (then North-West Frontier Province) was split into two divisions, Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar. Until 1976, Peshawar Division contained the districts of Hazara and Kohat, when they both became divisions themselves.
