Hub Dam Wildlife Sanctuary

Hab Dam Wildlife Sanctuary is located around Hub Dam in Balochistan and Sindh provinces of Pakistan. Hub Dam is the Pakistan's third largest dam. It is situated in the north of Karachi bordering the Kirthar National Park. The Dam was constructed in 1981 on the Hub River, in a region of arid plains and low stony hills. Much of the shoreline is steeply shelving and stony, but there are many shallow bays and small islands.

Hub Dam

Hub Dam is a reservoir on the Hub River. It is situated 56 km from Kaachi city in Karachi and Lasbela Districts on Sindh and Balochistan provinces border. The dam is extended to 24300 acres with gross storage capacity of 857000 acre feet. It is the Pakistan's third largest dam. It is an important source that provides the drinking water to the metropolitan city Karachi. In 1974, the government of Sindh declared the area around dam as a wildlife sanctuary.

Gadap Town

Gadap Town is a town in the northwestern part of Karachi with the Hub River on its western limits also forming the provincial border between Sindh and Balochistan, while to the north and east are Dadu District and the Kirthar Mountains. Sindhis and Balochis form the absolute majority in the town.
