Bay of San Miguel

The Bay of San Miguel (Spanish: Golfo de San Miguel) is located on the Pacific coast of Darién, a district of eastern Panama. Bay is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:8.3194444|N|78.3086111|W||||| | |name= }}. It is fed by the Tuira River. At its southern end is Cape Garachiné (also known as Point Garachina), and at its northern end is Punta San Lorenzo (a.k.a. Cape Gardo).

La Palma, Darién

La Palma is located at the mouth of the Río Tuira, where the wide river meets the Golfo de San Miguel. The Chucunaque joins the Tuira farther south. La Palma is the provincial capital of Darién Province and the most populous town in the region. However, despite its lofty position as capital of the largest province in Panama, La Palma is literally a one-street town. Tourism is becoming one of the town's main industries.

Chepigana District

Chepigana District is a district (distrito) of Darién Province in Panama. The population according to the 2000 census was 27,461. The district covers a total area of 7,309 km². The capital lies at the city of La Palma.
