Kuna de Wargandí

Kuna de Wargandí is a comarca indígena (indigenous territory) in Panamá. It was created in 2000 from the province of Darién, from the district of Pinogana. It has an area of 299 square miles (775 km²). It is inhabited by the Kuna people.

Darien scheme

The colonization project that became known as the Darien Scheme or Darien Disaster was an unsuccessful attempt by the Kingdom of Scotland to become a world trading nation by establishing a colony called "Caledonia" on the Isthmus of Panama in the late 1690s.

Acla

Acla was a Spanish colonial town founded by order of the Governor of Castilla de Oro, Pedrarias Dávila, in 1515. It was located on the central coastline of the modern-day Kuna Yala, to the northeast of Panamá. The town's name means bones of men in the indigenous language. The name comes from the large number of bones strewn about the nearby plains, which supposedly came from the conflicts between two indigenous brothers who fought to become chiefs of the region.
