Sogod, Southern Leyte
The Municipality of Sogod is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. Established in 1700, Sogod was incorporated as a municipality in June 10, 1853. The name of the municipality was originated from the Cebuano word, sogod, meaning "to start" and known as one of the few indigenous settlements established before the Spanish Colonization.
