Albuera, Leyte

Albuera is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 40,520 people. The town boasts of a semi-concrete municipal building. Streets within the poblacion are reinforced with cement along the ditches giving the town a neat look and at the same time providing security against muddy streets during the rainy months.

Ormoc Bay

Ormoc Bay is a bay on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. The bay is an inlet of the Camotes Sea. The city of Ormoc lies at the head of the bay and exports rice, copra and sugar. The World War II Battle of Ormoc Bay took place from November 11 until mid-December in Ormoc Bay during late 1944. It consisted of a series of almost daily destroyer skirmishes and air battles. It was decisive in determining the final outcome of the Battle for Leyte Gulf.

USS Cooper (DD-695)

USS Cooper (DD-695), a Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer, is the only ship of the United States Navy to be named for Elmer Glenn Cooper, a naval aviator who died in a seaplane accident in 1938. The Cooper was launched 9 February 1944 by Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Kearny, N.J. ; sponsored by Mrs. Elmer G. Cooper; and commissioned 27 March 1944, Commander J. W. Schmidt in command. Cooper cleared Boston 23 July 1944 for Pearl Harbor arriving 4 September.

Lake Danao (Leyte)

Lake Danao is a guitar-shaped lake on the island of Leyte, Philippines in the province of Leyte. The lake is covering an area of 148 hectares . It is situated in the 2,193 hectares Lake Danao National Park, which also includes the Amandiwin mountain range. The lake is 18 kilometres northeast of Ormoc City, half an hour drive along the San Pablo - Tongonan and Milagro - Lake Danao roads.
