Lodz University of Technology

The Lodz University of Technology was created in 1945 and has developed into one of the biggest in Poland. Originally located in an old factory building, today covering nearly 200,000 sq. meters in over 70 separate buildings, the majority of them situated in the main University area. Approximately 21,000 students are currently studying at the University. Educational and scientific tasks of the University are run by about 3,000 staff members.

National Film School in Łódź

The Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi) is the most notable academy for future actors, directors, photographers, camera operators and TV staff in Poland. It was founded on March 8, 1948 in Łódź and was initially planned to be moved to Warsaw as soon as the city was rebuilt after its destruction during World War II and the Warsaw Uprising.

Stadion ŁKS

Stadion Miejski (Łódź City Stadium), also known as Stadion LKS, is a multi-purpose stadium in Łódź, Poland. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 12,160 people. It was built in 1975, while the ground hosted football games since 1925. A new 16,500-seat stadium is planned on the same site. Support for the project has been undermined by the re-call election of the Lodz City President in early 2010.

Arena Łódź

The Atlas Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Łódź, Poland. Seating 10,400, with an optional extra 3,000, it has 1,500 parking places and 11 VIP lounges (each with a terrace). It is one of Poland's largest venues. The arena hosts conferences, conerts and sports events (e.g. basketball, volleyball, athletics and ice hockey). In August 2009, Atlas Group purchased the naming rights to the arena for a period of 5 years.
