Twardogóra

Twardogóra is a town in Oleśnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district called Gmina Twardogóra. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. On 23 January 1945 the town was taken by the Red Army and later the same year became a part of Poland. (For more information on the history of the region, see Silesia. ) It lies approximately 20 kilometres north of Oleśnica, and 40 kilometres north-east of the regional capital Wrocław.
