It lies approximately 21 kilometres south-west of Biała Podlaska and 78 km north of the regional capital Lublin. The village has a population of 900. In January 17, 1874 the Russian Army killing 23 Greek Catholic (Uniate) in time a protest against the Russification and confiscation of the church.
