Moara Vlăsiei is a commune in the northern part of Ilfov County, Romania. Its name means "Mill of Wallachia[n forest]", and was called Căciulaţi until 1968, when its administrative center was moved from the village of Căciulaţi to Moara Vlăsiei (a village previously named Moara Săracă— the Poor Mill). The commune is composed of five villages: Ciofliceni, Ghermăneşti, Snagov, Tâncăbeşti and Vlădiceasca. Snagov is a popular holiday resort, and many villas have lately been built on the shores of Snagov lake. The name is of probably Bulgarian origin, from the word sneg (meaning "snow").

Lake Snagov
Snagov is a lake in Snagov municipality, about 25–30 km north of Bucharest, Romania. It has a surface of only 5.75 km², but due to its elongated shape it stretches for about 12 km, northeast to southwest. Lake Snagov as well as the nearby Snagov forest is a protected natural area. "Snagov Lake (Aria Naturala Protejata Lacul Snagov - ANPLS) has about 150 hectares in size and protect about 20 species. "Snagov Forrest" (Aria Naturala Protejata Lacul Snagov - ANPLS) has about 10 hectares.
