Biryuch

Biryuch is a town and the administrative center of Krasnogvardeysky District of Belgorod Oblast, Russia, located on the bank of the Tikhaya Sosna River. Population: 7,846; 8,079; 8,526. It was founded on March 7, 1705 by Ivan Medkov, a Cossack sotnik, as Biryuchenskoye Komissarstvo (Бирю́ченское Комисса́рство), and was granted town status in 1779. On January 27, 1919, it was renamed Budyonny (Будённый), after Semyon Budyonny.

Livenka, Belgorod Oblast

Livenka is a rural locality in Krasnogvardeysky District of Belgorod Oblast, Russia, located 29 kilometers from the town of Biryuch, the administrative center of the district. Population: 3,870; 4,101. It was founded in 1681 by Vasily Livenets as an outpost settlement. In 1943, the Battle of Nikolayevka took place in the vicinity of this village.
