Lesogorsky

Lesogorsky is an urban locality in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, located on the Karelian Isthmus near the Russia–Finland border, and a station of the Kamennogorsk–Svetogorsk–Imatra railway. Population: 3,273; 3,004; 3,744. Until the Winter War and Continuation War, it had been the administrative center of the Jääski municipality of the Viipuri Province of Finland, partially lost to the Soviet Union in 1944.

Kamennogorsk

Kamennogorsk, known as Antrea before 1948, is a town in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located on the Karelian Isthmus on the left bank of the Vuoksa River 170 kilometers northwest of St.  Petersburg. Population: 6,739; 6,084; 5,694. In the 14th-17th centuries, Antrea was a main administrative center of Karelian settlements on Upper Vuoksa. The name comes from Lutheran community founded in the 17th century and the church of Saint Andrew.

Battle of Tali-Ihantala

The Battle of Tali-Ihantala (June 25 to July 9, 1944) was part of the Finnish-Soviet Continuation War (1941–1944), which occurred during World War II. The battle was fought between Finnish forces—using war materiel provided by Germany—and Soviet forces. To date, it is the largest battle in the history of the Nordic countries. The battle was one of attrition, with the Finns suffering proportionally more casualties than the Soviet forces.
