Gorki Leninskiye

Gorki Leninskiye is an urban locality in Leninsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia, 10 kilometers south of Moscow city limits and the Moscow Ring Road. Population: 3,586; 1,729; 1,711. The estate of Gorki belonged to various Muscovite noblemen from the 18th century, ending up in the possession of General Anatoly Reynbot, who was Governor General of Moscow in 1905 during the Revolution of 1905. After his death the estate passed to his widow, Zinaida Morozova.

Sukhanovo Prison

Sukhanovka, short for Sukhanovskaya osoborezhimnaya tyur'ma (Russian: Сухановская особорежимная тюрьма) 'Sukhanovo special-regime prison,' was a prison established by the NKVD in 1938 for "particularly dangerous enemies of the people" on the grounds of the old Ekaterinskaia Pustyn' Monastery near Vidnoye, just south of Moscow. Known officially as Special Object 110 (Russian: Спецобъект № 110), it was said to be worse than the Lubyanka, Lefortovo, or Butyrka prisons in Moscow itself.

Butovo firing range

The Butovo firing range is the name of a location where more than 20,000 political prisoners were shot during the Great Terror of the Soviet Union and thereafter from 1938 to 1953. It is located in the Yuzhnoye Butovo District of Moscow, near the village of Drozhzhino. Among those killed in Butovo were Béla Kun, Gustav Klutsis, Seraphim Chichagov, and a number of Orthodox priests later canonized as the New Martyrs.
