Nara River

Nara River is a river in the Moscow Oblast and Kaluga Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Oka River. The length of the river is 158 kilometres. The area of its basin is 2030 km². UNK proton accelerator

The UNK proton accelerator was a large particle accelerator under construction in Protvino, near Moscow, Russia, at the Institute for High Energy Physics. While progress in construction was announced in 1996, after the breakup of the Soviet Union and the economic changes in the country, government funding to the project was halted and only security and maintenance are funded.
