It is located on the right bank of the Don River approximately 35 kilometers upstream from the major Russian port city of Rostov-on-Don. It is famous for having been the center of Don Cossack culture and politics for nearly two centuries as the capital of the Don Voisko Oblast.

Don Republic

The Don Republic, later known as the Almighty Don Host (Ukrainian: Всевелике Військо Донське Vsevelike Viysko Donske ;Russian: Всевеликое Войско Донское Vsevelikoe Voisko Donskoe), was an anti-Bolshevik state formed during the Russian Civil War after the collapse of the Russian Empire. It was also the name of two organizations formed in the 1990s. The independence was proclaimed by the assembly of Don Cossacks called the Krug on May 18, 1918.

Olimp – 2

Olimp — 2 (Russian: Олимп — 2) is a football stadium in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. It is the home ground of FC Rostov, and in 1958–1970 it was also the home ground of SKA Rostov-on-Don. The stadium was built in 1930 and was known as Rostselmash plant stadium before 1996, as Rostselmash in 1996–2002 and as Olimp — 21 vek (Olympus — 21st century) in 2002–2005. The capacity of the stadium peaked at 32,000 in 1950s, when the second tier of stand was built.
