Žilina District

The Žilina District is an okres (district) of the Žilina Region in north-western Slovakia. The district was first established in 1923. In its present borders exists rom 1996. The core of the district is situated in the Váh and Rajec river valley. Due to its urbanization, the Žilina district is one of the most developed regions of Slovakia.

University of Žilina

The University of Žilina was established on October 1, 1953 as the College of Railways in Prague. In 1959 the institution changed its name to the University of Transport and moved to Žilina. As a result of the increasing role of communications within the curriculum and research orientation of the University, the name was amended to the University of Transport and Communications in 1980.

Štadión pod Dubňom

The Štadión pod Dubňom is an all-seater football stadium situated in Žilina, Slovakia, which has been the home of MŠK Žilina. It is named after the hill Dubeň adjacent to which is located and literally means "Stadium under the Duben Hill". The original stadium was built in 1941 although the ground had been in use since club's foundation in 1909.

Rajčanka

Rajčanka or Rajčianka is a 47,5 km long river in northern Slovakia springing in Strážovské vrchy near Čičmany and pouring into Váh in Žilina. It forms the border of Lúčanská Malá Fatra Mountains and of Strážovské vrchy. 32 km of its length are navigable. Cities along its course are: Rajec, Rajecké Teplice, Žilina.

Kysuca

The Kysuca River is a 66.3 km long river in northern Slovakia and it's a right tributary to Váh. The river gives name to the informal Kysuce region. Its source is near the village of Makov.
