Battle of Bakenlaagte

The Battle of Bakenlaagte occurred on 30 October 1901 during the guerrilla phase of Anglo-Boer war of 1899–1902. The battle saw the Eastern Transvaal Boer commandos of Generals Grobler, Brits, Viljoen and Louis Botha attack the rear guard of Colonel Benson's much feared No 3 Flying Column while it was in marching formation to its base camp.

Borehole UC 65

Borehole UC 65 is a provincial heritage site near Evander in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. In 1985 it was described in the Government Gazette as In 1951 Borehole U.C. 65 was the first prospecting hole to penetrate the auriferous Kimberley Reef in the vicinity of the present Evander. This event led to the development of an important new South African goldfield, viz the Evander Goldfield. The heritage site is situated on portion 107 of the farm Winkelhaak 135, IS.

Victor Khanye Local Municipality

Victor Khanye Local Municipality (formerly Delmas Local Municipality) is located in the Nkangala District Municipality of Mpumalanga province, South Africa. The seat of Delmas Local Municipality is Delmas. The local municipality was one of the four to have passed the 2009-10 audit by the Auditor-General of South Africa, who deemed it to have a clean administration.
