Casasimarro, Cuenca

Casasimarro is a municipality in the province of Cuenca, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. The area has an altitude of 750 meters and a continental climate (40 °C in summer and -10 °C) in winter. As of 2003, the municipality had a population of just over 3000. The area is based around agriculture and cattle raising, with the main produce being mushrooms, cereals, wine and olive oil. Industries include guitar- and carpet-making.

Alarcón

Alarcón is a municipality in Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It has a population of 182. In 1177 Ferren Martínez de Ceballos led the Christian forces which captured Alarcón - then an important fortress - from the Almohads. In gratitude, King Alfonso VIII of Castile gave him the name "Alarcón", which was borne over centuries by his descendants, among them the noted 16th century dramtist Juan Ruiz de Alarcón. \t\t \t\t\tAlarcón-Castillo.
