Öckerö Municipality (Öckerö kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Öckerö on the main island, which is also called Öckerö. German submarine U-1065 was a Type VIIC/41 U-boat of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. She was ordered\ton 14 September 1941, and was laid down on 23 September 1943 at Krupp Germaniawerft, Kiel, as 'werk 702'. She was launched on 3 August 1944 and commissioned under the command of Oberleutnant Johannes Panitz on 23 September of that year.
