The Textile Museum of Borås (Swedish: Textilmuseet i Borås) is a museum of textile history in the city of Borås, Sweden. In a broad sense this museum stands for and is a part of Borås' history. Borås once was the textile capital of Sweden and this museum is now located in a former textile factory building from 1898, Åkerlund's Cotton Spinning Ltd. , that has been turned into a museum. Bäckängsgymnasiet

Bäckängsgymnasiet is a gymnasium in Borås, Sweden that offers university preparatory programs in the natural and social sciences, art, and the humanities. The school was founded in 1901 as "Högre allmänna läroverket i Borås", which can be translated as "the higher education institute of Borås". Approximately 1000 students are enrolled in Bäckängsgymnasiet's programs each year. Famous alumni include: former Prime Minister Ingvar Carlsson, actor Helge Skoog and artist and filmmaker Pål Hollender.

Borås Municipality

Borås Municipality (Borås kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Borås. In 1971 the City of Borås was made a municipality (kommun) when the unitary type of local government unit was introduced in Sweden. Three years later a lot of surrounding municipalities were amalgamated with Borås. In 1995 the western part was split off, creating Bollebygd Municipality.

Torpa stenhus

Torpa stenhus is a well preserved medieval castles near Åsunden, in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden. The first stone house was built around 1470 by Privy Council Arvid Knutsson as fortress against the Danes. Reconstruction and remodeling took during the 1500s and 1600s. The castle has a well-preserved Renaissance interior. The chapel, which was decorated in the late 1600s, is in baroque style. The castle is best known in history as the manor of the Swedish noble family of Stenbock.
