Ayn al-Arab
Ayn al-Arab is an inhabited city in northern Syria, administratively part of the Aleppo Governorate. "Kobanê" is the Kurdish name of the city. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ayn al-Arab had a population of 44,821 in the 2004 census. The Popular Protection Units (YPG) captured Ayn al-Arab on 19 July 2012.
