Izra' is a town in Syria, administratively belonging to Izra' District of the Daraa Governorate located north of Daraa. Izra' has an altitude of 599 metres and had a population of 19,158 in 2004, according to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The population is predominantly Christian.

Al-Lajat is a region located in southern Syria east of the Jordan River, on an island of rock which was approximately 20 miles by 30 miles, and rose 20 or 30 feet above the table-land of Bashan. This massive alkaline volcanic field extends from southern Syria, across Jordan and into northwestern Saudi Arabia. Amongst others, the Jabal al-Druze, Es Safa and Dirat at Tulul volcanic fields form the northern, Syrian part of the Harrat Ash Shamah; Al Harrah is in the southern, Saudi Arabian third of the field.
