Tu'anuku

Tu'anuku is a village on the western part of Vava'u Tonga with a population of approximately 1052 since Aug 2009. It has several nicknames such as Toa ko Tavake fai'ana, Halapukepuke, Hala siki 'o Mata'aho and also Uini e Ngofe. There is a fresh water lake next to this village. Tu'anuku is an estate of Finau 'Ulukalala

Pangaimotu

Pangaimotu is an island, and the name of the island's largest village. It is located in the Vava'u Group of Tonga, and is reachable in a half hour boat trip from Neiafu, the capital of the Vava'u district. Aside from the beaches, a centrepiece of the island's attraction is wreck jumping from the hull of the upturned ship 50 metres off the island's main beach.

Falevai

Falevai is a settlement in the Vava'u islands in Tonga. The name Falevai, if translated into English means "water house. " The name was given because of how the seas and the oceans surrounding the houses. Falevai's most famous names are lafa 'i tua and kuli fe kai. Falevai is an island that is really enjoyable with its great people and beaches. Falevai is mainly known for their delicious seafood and their lovely beach.

Battle of Kaba

The Battle of Kaba was fought at Kaba, Fiji, in 1855. It was fought between Fijian Tui Viti Cakobau and his enemies from Rewa and Bau. Cakobau was supported by a strong fleet from Tonga, sent by Tu'i Tonga (King) Taufa'ahau (George I) of Tonga and Ma’afu, governor of the Tongan population in Fiji. The battle was a major victory for Cakobau, thanks mainly to his Tongan allies, and cemented his leadership over Fiji.

Vaimalo

Vaimalō, is a village in the western district of Vavaʻu in Tonga. Vaimalō was named by one of the most revered and beloved chiefs in Vava'u's history the great Finau Fisi. The village became the sole estate of his only child and son Naufahu Mapilitoa. In 1781 right off the coast of Longomapu, it was Finau Fisi in his double hulled war canoe the Talito'a who met the Spaniard explorer Don Francisco Antonio Mourelle the first European to discover Vava'u.
