Gözler

Gözler is a town in the central district of Denizli Province, Turkey. It is situated to the south of Büyük Menderes River (historical Maeander) and Adıgüzel Dam at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|07|N|29|09|E||| | |name= }}. The distance to Denizli is 50 kilometres . The population of gözler is 2083. as of 2011. The town was founded in 1971 at a different location. In 1976 it moved to its present location. Main agricultural product of the town is thyme.

Hierapolis

Hierapolis was an ancient Greco-Roman city in Phrygia located on hot springs in southwest Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale, Turkey. Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd century BCE, and people came to soothe their ailments, with many of them retiring or dying here. The large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, including the Sarcophagus of Marcus Aurelius Ammianos.

The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.
