Aydoğdu, Tavas

Aydoğdu is a village in Tavas district of Denizli Province. According to rumor, the former name of the village which was Abaz refers to Abbas, the founder of the village. During the early years of the republic the name is changed to Aydoğdu. The tomb of Abbas had been demolished but rebuilt later. Abbas as well as other gazi fighters were active during the Seljuks of Turkey era.

Denizli Province

Denizli Province is a province of Turkey in Western Anatolia, on high ground above the Aegean coast. Neighbouring provinces are Uşak to the north, Burdur, Isparta, Afyon to the east, Aydın, Manisa to the west and Muğla to the south. It is located between the coordinates 28° 30’ and 29° 30’ E and 37° 12’ and 38° 12’ N. It covers an area of 11,868 km², and the population is 931,823. The population was 750,882 in 1990. The provincial capital is the city of Denizli.

Colossae

Colossae or Colosse, was an ancient city of Phrygia, on the Lycus, which is a tributary of the Maeander River. It was situated about 12 miles South East of Laodicea, and near the great road from Ephesus to the Euphrates. The site, located near the modern town of Honaz in Turkey, has never been excavated.

Alaattin, Denizli

Alaattin is a town in Acıpayam district of Denizli Province, Turkey. It is situated between Denizli and Acıpayam on Turkish state highway D.585 at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:37|28|N|29|19|E||| | |name= }}. The distance to Acıpayam is 8 kilometres and to Denizli is 23 kilometres . The population of Alaattin is 2365 as of 2011. The settlement was named after Alaattin a Turkmen tribe leader who founded the settlement in 1400s. In 1969 it was declared a seat of township.
