Ege University Observatory

The Ege University Observatory (Turkish: Ege Üniversitesi Gözlemevi, EUO) is a ground-based astronomical observatory operated by the Astronomy and Space Sciences Department at Ege University's Faculty of Science. Formally opened on June 22, 1965, it is located in Kurudağ at Kemalpaşa district, 10 km east of Izmir in western Turkey. The telescope domes of the observatory are situated at an altitude of 800 m while the main building is erected at 632 m .

Kavaklıdere, İzmir

Kavaklıdere is a village in Bornova district of İzmir Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|27|N|27|19|E||| | |name= }} it is only 7 kilometres east of Bornova which is actually a part of Greater İzmir. It is situated to the south of Belkahve Pass and Turkish state highway D.300 which connects İznir to Ankara. The population of Kavaklıdere is 2801 as of 2011. Most of Kavaklıdere residents work in city services in İzmir and elsewhere.

Belkahve Pass

Belkahve is a mountain pass in İzmir Province, Turkey. Belkahve is situated 25 kilometres east of İzmir on the highway D.300 connecting İzmir to hinterland. Its coordinates are {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|27|21|N|27|19|20|E| |primary |name= }} and the maximum altitude is 268 metres . As the average altitude of Turkey is over 1,000 metres, Belkahve is considered a low-altitude pass.

Altındağ, İzmir

Buca Arena

Buca Arena is a football stadium in Izmir and is located near to Yedigöller, north of Buca. Construction began in 2008; the opening ceremony of the new stadium was in 2009. The official capacity of Buca Arena is 10,000. Near the stadium, a carpet area, two basketball courts, jogging paths and a 300 car parking lot are located. Bucaspor played its first official match against Çorumspor on 18 January 2009.
