It is situated on D.555 which connects Kırklareli to İstanbul at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:41|39|N|27|10|E||| | |name= }}. The population of Kavaklı is 3445 as of 2011. Prior to Balkan Wars the population of Kavaklı was composed of Bulgarians living in the Ottoman Empire. After Balkan Wars they left for Bulgaria and the Turks from Bulgaria settled in Kavaklı.
