New Trabzon Stadium
New Trabzon Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Akyazı, Trabzon, Turkey. It will effectively replace the ageing Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium, which has been in use since the early 1950s. It is expected to be completed in 2012, and will be used mostly for football matches and will host the homes matches of Trabzonspor. The stadium will have a capacity of 41,565 and will be totally covered.

It dates back to the thirteenth century when Trabzon was the capital of the Empire of Trebizond. It is located near the seashore and two miles west of the medieval town's limits. It is one of a few dozen Byzantine sites still existent in the area.

Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium
Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium (Turkish: Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu) is the home ground of the Turkish football (soccer) club Trabzonspor. The stadium was built in 1951 with a capacity of 2,500 seats. After several renovations, the capacity was increased to 20750 in 2008. The stadium is named after Hüseyin Avni Aker, a teacher and regional administrator for education, who served during 1940–1944 in Trabzon and contributed much to the local sports.
