Distance to Çemişgezek is 15 kilometres and to Tunceli is 110 kilometres . The population of Payamdüzü is 565 as of 2011. The original name of the village was Sinsor which was changed to Payamdüzü (literally Almond plains) in 1947, upon the suggestion of Kâzım Karabekir.
