Talianki (archaeological site)

Talianki is an archaeological site near the village of the same name in Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine. It was the location of a large—currently the largest known settlement in Neolithic Europe—Cucuteni-Trypillian settlement dating to around 3,700 BC. The settlement, built on a bluff between the Tal'ianki River and a smaller stream, was made up of ovular, concentric rows of interconnected buildings.

Uman

Uman is a city located in the Cherkasy Oblast in central Ukraine, to the east of Vinnytsia. The city rests on the banks of the Umanka River at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|45|N|30|13|E|region:UA_type:city(100,000)|| | |name= }}, and serves as the self-governing administrative center of the Uman Raion. Among Ukrainians, Uman is known for its depiction of the haidamak rebellions in Taras Shevchenko's longest of poems, Haidamaky ("The Haidamaks", 1843).
