Zmiiv

Zmiiv is a city in Kharkiv Oblast of Ukraine. The population as of 2001 was 17,063. Zmiiv is the administrative center of Zmiivskyi Raion. Between 1976 and 1990, the city was renamed after Klement Gottwald, a Czechoslovak politician, to Gotwald.

Borki train disaster

The Borki train disaster occurred on October 29  1888 near Borki station in the former Kharkov Governorate of the Russian Empire, 295 kilometers south of Kursk, when the imperial train carrying Tsar Alexander III of Russia and his family from Crimea to Saint Petersburg derailed at high speed. Twenty-one people died at the scene and two later, with between 12 and 33 injured.

Bezliudivka

Bezliudivka (or Bezludivka, or Bezlyudivka, or Bezlyudovka. Ukrainian: Безлюдівка; Russian: Безлюдовка) is an urban-type settlement located in the Kharkiv Oblast of eastern Ukraine. Situated on the river Udy, 3 km south of Kharkiv, 3 km from the railway station Bezlyudivka. The current population is 9,693 (as of 2001).

Kharkiv International Airport

Kharkiv International Airport (Ukrainian: Міжнародний аеропорт "Харків"), is an airport located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The airport is the main airfield serving the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city. Located to the south-east of the city centre, in the city's Kominternivskyi district. The main terminal at Kharkiv was built in the 1950s in a socialist neo-classical style favoured by Joseph Stalin.
