Shevchenkove

Shevchenkove is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine in the Kharkiv Oblast. It started in 1860 as a village named Bulacelovka after the owner of that land, Bulacel. Its geographical coordinates in decimals are 46.87° N and 32.21° E and the telephone code for the area is +38 (05751). Its population according to the 2001 census was 3148, and is estimated to have gone down to 2978 in the year 2007. The city contains a three-star hotel, the Kharkov.

Ukrainian T-shaped Radio telescope, second modification

The Ukrainian T-shaped Radio telescope, second modification (official abbreviation UTR-2) is the world's largest radio telescope at decametre wavelengths. It was built in the early 1970s near the village of Hrakovo, 65 km south-east from Kharkiv, Ukraine in the time of Soviet Union empire. The telescope is operated by the Institute of Radio Astronomy of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The UTR-2 comprises 2040 array elements in two arms: north-south (1800×60 m) and west-east (900×60 m).
